Halloween Happenings in the Cool Spring Downtown District
The 9th annual Zombie Walk is scheduled for Fourth Friday, Oct. 26 from 6 to 10 p.m. The event will begin with a pre-party at the Headquarters Library at 300 Maiden Lane. The party will include a DJ, face-painting/zombie makeup by Paul Mitchell The School Fayetteville and children’s events. The walk is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. and will proceed down Ray Avenue and Hay Street. It will end with a concert at 1 Market Square in front of Back-A-Round Records. Dead City Symphony, The Sherman Neckties and Knightmare are scheduled to perform. Ghoulish fun for adults AND kids in beautiful Downtown Fayetteville! Fourth Fridays are free family events.
Merchants with the Downtown Alliance will also kick off their weekend-long Monster Bingo Bash on Friday, October 26 through Sunday, October 28, 2018. This is a great way for people to experience Downtown Fayetteville and get to know the local merchants! Participants will visit participating shops to get their Monster Bingo Cards stamped. Those who complete and return their Monster Bingo Cards will be entered in a drawing to win a collection of items and gift cards from Downtown Merchants!
Trick-or-Treat Downtown – an annual tradition in the heart of Downtown Fayetteville’s Historic District! Over 30 local merchants will welcome little witches, super heroes, princesses and goblins – bring your little ones to the candy stops throughout Downtown from 4 to 6 p.m. on Halloween, Wednesday, October 31!
As a very special treat for those delicious little children who come to Downtown Fayetteville every year to Trick or Treat, Cool Spring Downtown District will be offering Count Dracula’s Perfectly Horrible Carriage Rides to kids and their families on Halloween, Wednesday, October 31, from 3 to 8 p.m. His carriage, pulled by horses black as Death, will rumble over the brick-paved streets of old Downtown for a heart-stopping ride. After the ride, Mom and Dad will certainly want to use their phones for a picture of their precious darlings with the Count. (Dads are advised to check Mom for any bite marks). The Count will meet his passengers at 222 Hay Street at the Cool Spring Downtown District’s office. Each ride is about 10 minutes long but it feels like a dreadful eternity! The cost is $5 for kids under 10 and $10 for adults. Reservations can be made starting at 2:30pm on October 31 at 222 Hay Street. Come early to pick a time – everyone is “dying” to ride with the Count!
